Head, Hand & Heart, is the graduation project of Sheik Mohamed
Ishaq, which essentially deals with the data from the archives
of National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad.
NID is a premiere design institute set up during the Nehruvian
era upon the recommendations from Charles and Ray Eames.
The three books offers an introspective view on three design
teachers; H. Kumar Vyas, Helena Perheentupa and M.P. Ranjan, who
played a major role in shaping the design curriculum at NID and
paved a path for design education in India.
The books were a shortlist for the Alkazi Photobook Grant of 2017.
The books were exhibitied at
Chatterjee and Lal, Mumbai in the exhibition “IMPACT:
Design thinking and the visual arts in young India”.
Serendipity Arts Festival, Goa in the exhibition “Look, Stranger!”.
Museo Cabanas, Mexico in the exhibition “Modernism in India”.
